Nearly two liters of water consumed - I'm still thirsty. There is no water anywhere to be found. I contemplate how very little sustenance there is in the desert for some time. If you are reading this from home - go to your kitchen, hold a nice clean glass under the spout in your fridge, hit the button, watch and enjoy the slippery wet cold liquid flowing from this miracle device. Put the glass to your lips. Swallow the ice cold water, gulp, gulp, gulp and enjoy the refreshing goodness of it as it slides down your throat and fills your belly and note the sensation and reaction of your body as it eminates "good". This is a miracle. Unfortunately we rarely even notice these everyday miracles in our lives. That's why I come to the desert. Such are my thoughts overlooking this scene. I look down at my tepid-warm nearly empty nalgene bottle with a small sigh. Well, I'm grateful still to have this precious life juice.

Time to get moving again.
