Dodged several bullets in the trailhead parking lot courtesy of the Imperial Valley NRA troop #357.  How is it legal to have an impromptu shooting range at the entrance to a wilderness preserve? Well... at least I'm enjoying a leisurely climb up a nice flat wash into Fossil Canyon. But I'm already thinking ... is 5 liters of water going to be enough for an overnight desert backpack trip? I'm thirsty already.
