Again taken while hanging out in camp. The winds were really starting to pick up now. This was facing east and there two different cloud formations here. In the foreground is generic cumulus that forms in the eddy of the Sierra mountains and is referred to as the Sierra wave (below). Above there is a lenticular cloud - also a result of the wave of air moving over the mountains similar to water flowing over submerged rocks. Both clouds were stationary - just hanging out in the shadow of the mountains. Pretty cool.
