My first "textbook" postcard photo of a Saguaro. You might notice that many of the Saguaros have Creosote bush or Palo Verde growing very close by. These are "nurse plants" that the Saguaro require when they are small and still developing their root systems. The nurse plants provide shade and protection from other plants.
